José Luis González Jiménez
Bio:
José Luis González-Jiménez is a Fellow and Research Director at CEA-Leti, Grenoble, France.He received his Diploma, M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona.He also obtained the HDR degree from Grenoble University in 2013.He worked as a Guest Researcher at the University of Arizona, collaborating with Motorola on high-speed DAC design.He later joined the STMicroelectronics/CEA-Leti Advanced Research Laboratory as a Visiting Researcher.Until 2011, he was an Associate Professor at UPC in Barcelona.From 2015 to 2019, he served as Deputy Head of the RFIC Design Laboratory at CEA-Leti.His research focuses on VLSI, RF/mixed-signal design, millimeter-wave and sub-THz ICs, and silicon photonics.He has authored 2 books, 40+ journal papers, 120+ conference papers, and holds 23 patents.He is a IEEE Senior Member, and active contributor to major journals and conferences technical program committees (including ESSERC, ISSCC, EuMW and IMS).
Abstract:
A vision of the scientific challenges for the telecom networks of the future with special focus on the French and European research projects in which CEA-Leti collaborates, bridging the gaps between network operators and deployment challenges, support for new or improved services, more energy efficient telecommunication equipments and networks, and the circuits and technologies needed to support them.
