Adrien Lebre

Senior Resarcher, Head of System, Network and Cloud Program, Inria Digital Program Agency

Bio:

Adrien Lebre obtained his Ph.D. from Grenoble Institute of Technology (2006) and his M.S. from the University of Grenoble (2003). During his Ph.D., he developed a novel approach for managing I/O requests in multi-application HPC clusters, From 2006 to 2008, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Inria, designing kDFS, a kernel distributed file system for the XtreemOS EU project. In 2008, he joined IMT Atlantique as an Associate Professor, focusing on distributed cloud computing (e.g., the OpenStack’s FEMDC Working group...). He later founded and has led the STACK Research Group since 2017, following his promotion to Full Professor.
Since 2023, Adrien leads the French Cloud PEPR initiative (next-gen cloud infrastructures). In 2024, he joined Inria as a Senior Researcher, overseeing the System, Network, and Cloud program for the french digital agency. He also represents France in the SLICES-RI initiative, a platform for large-scale experimental research in networking, distributed computing, and cloud/edge architectures.
