Bio:

Xavier Banchelin is currently R&D and Product Management Director in the Identity & Biometric Solution Business Line of Thales, where he drives the development and product management of chip enabled solutions for identity documents.

As R&D professional with an in-depth experience of smartcard related technologies Xavier joined Thales 28 years ago and has held various engineering positions in France and in Singapore, contributing to the deployment of several new key technologies such as Javacards(TM) or electronic passports.

Xavier is a Graduate Engineer from Centrale Méditerranée.

Abstract:

Over the last two decades, electronic identity documents encountered a tremendous development. This is now a mature ecosystem with clear rules as it comes to regulations, standardisations and cybersecurity certifications. The presentation will detail how the integration of Post Quantum Cryptography is triggering changes to this framework.
