Hakima Chaouchi
Bio:
Hakima Chaouchi is a Full Professor at Telecom SudParis – Institut Polytechnique de Paris. Following her PhD from Sorbonne University and King’s College London, she has dedicated 25 years of research to the optimization of wireless and mobile networks, the Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity, 5G/6G networks, and emerging concepts such as N3C and the digital continuum. For the past two years, she has served as the Head of Strategy for Digital Sovereignty and Sobriety at Institut Mines-Télécom, she is a member of the ASIC national research program agency of the high minitry of research and education and space (MESRE), specifically for the networks and digital continuum axis. As a former Scientific Advisor to the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESRE), where she played a key role contributing to the structuring of the French academic research under the France 2030 initiative (specifically the Cyber, Cloud, and Telecom research, innovation and competences programs). She also contributed to both the national and European (ESFRI) roadmaps for digital research infrastructures. An expert in European networking and telecom working groups, she is the Vice-Chair of the States Representatives Group for the European JU SNS (Smart Networks and Services) and Chairs the Intermediary Supervisory Board of the ESFRI SLICES research infrastructure. Highly active in global standardization, she has chaired several ITU-T focus groups on data management and eco-responsible AI, while contributing to IETF and ETSI working groups. She currently leads the France 6G national mission, focusing on the 6G R&D ecosystem and the standardization engagement within the French national strategy for the 5G and Future Networks acceleration coordinated by the general directorate of entreprises (DGE).
