Dr. Ignacio Montiel-Sánchez is a researcher and policy officer with extensive experience in defence technologies and a growing focus on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductor advancements into security and military applications. Currently employed at the European Commission's DG DEFIS, he supports the coordination of technical working groups with an emphasis on AI and semiconductors, contributing to the development of projects under the European Defence Fund (EDF). His research examines how AI and semiconductor technologies can enhance sensor capabilities, provide information superiority, improve operational efficiency, and tackle emerging challenges in modern defence systems. His work underscores the importance of collaboration across European institutions and industry to foster innovation and resilience in semiconductor and AI integration for defence purposes.
