Originally from Blois in the Loire Valley, near the Château de Chambord, Florian Cardinaux has just arrived in the City by the Bay to take up his role as Consul General of France in San Francisco.
Florian Cardinaux was previously one of the advisors to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna, responsible for Asia, the Pacific, and consular affairs (2022-2024). Prior to that, he served as Head of Operations at the Crisis and Support Center at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (2020-2022), a role that led him to manage numerous international crises involving French nationals (notably Afghanistan, Ukraine, the Sahel, Sudan, and Ethiopia). In recent months, following Catherine Colonna’s departure, he resumed this activity to contribute to the management of the crisis in Gaza and its regional consequences.
It is his third posting abroad after Doha, where he served as Deputy Head of Mission of the French Embassy in Qatar (2018-2020), and Delhi, where he was a political advisor at the French Embassy in India, responsible for the franco-indian strategic partnership (2015-2018). He began his career at the Quai d’Orsay on the Near East, handling relations with Israel and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the Syrian crisis (2012-2015).
Aged 39, Florian Cardinaux is a graduate of Sciences Po Paris. He spent a year studying at Princeton University as part of his education. He is also an alumnus of the École nationale d’administration, Jean-Jacques Rousseau class (2012).
Florian Cardinaux is married and the father of a young boy who attends the Lycée Français in San Francisco. He is passionate about rowing, mountain sports, and scuba diving.

Cyril Fellous has joined CEA-Leti in 2024 as head of Optics and Photonics Division. He holds a PhD and Engineering degree in Physics and material science.
Industry, business and technology enthusiast. he has developed a 25 years experience in high tech sector, enjoying many positions from process and Device engineer, R&D manager, quality manager, product and program manager and Business unit Director.
Cyril has worked in various semiconductor companies like STMicroelectronics, Teledyne e2v, SOITEC.
Cyril’s ambition is to develop long term partnerships, creating business opportunities and being customer focused.
Within CEA-Leti he has the chance to lead a team of highly skilled experts and professionals providing breakthrough technologies and solutions to partners.
Together we bring high differentiation in the image sensors, optical sensors, Silicon photonics, optical packaging and displays for sensing, imaging, IA, data communication, computing, AR/VR, health and we help our customers to transform these R&D technologies into industrial solutions.

Michaël Pelissier received both engineering degree and M.S and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications from the INPG (Grenoble, French Higher Institute of Engineering) in 2003 resp 2026. After some experience in Philips Nijmegen in Netherlands, he joined University Grenoble Alpes, CEA, LETI in 2003 as permanent researcher Engineer. In 2016 he hold a visiting researcher position at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. His fields of research are radiofrequency and optoelectronics architecture & systems solution. In 2019 he led the RF Architecture and IC Design Laboratory. Since 2023, he is leading the multifunctional display activity with a specific expertise in the optoelectronics system design. He is the author of 8 patents, 3 book-chapters and a JEDEC standardization chapter document and more than 40 peer review scientific publication.

Eric Virey serves as a Principal Display Market and Technologies Analyst within the Photonics & Display division at Yole Intelligence. He has authored a large collection of market and technology reports and contributed to dozens of special consulting projects (strategic advising, buy/sell side M&A and due diligences, technology scouting, cost modelling etc.)
Eric has spoken at more than 80 industry conferences covering the display, LEDs, quantum dots, phosphors and sapphire industries. He has been interviewed or quoted in multiple media including: The Wall Street Journal, CNN, Fox News, CNBC, Bloomberg, Ars Technica, Financial Review, Forbes, The Boston Globe, Technology Review, etc. He is also a regular contributor to various display industry media and organizations.
Prior to joining Yole, Eric held R&D, engineering, manufacturing and marketing positions with Fortune 500 Company Saint-Gobain in France and the United States. Eric received a PhD in Optoelectronics from the INP – UGA in Grenoble, France. He is based in Portland, OR.
